Some years ago, Devold decided to leave the open wool market, and establish long-term contracts with a few, carefully selected farmers. On our journeys around the world, trying to find the right farmers, we fell in love with New Zealand and its people. Their values, their way of life and the nature is so similar to our home, and it just feels close to our hearts.
We are extremely proud to work with award winning farmers in New Zealand. And our farmers are just as passionate about quality as we are – developing Merino sheep throughout generations.
One of our award winning farming families, The Perriams from Bendigo Station joined the event together. The family has been farming Merino sheep in The High Country for over 40 years and is proud to be part of the Devold family.
Our brand has a strong heritage, developing high quality garments since 1853. Controlling the value chain and owning our factory enable us to deliver the best quality garments. We believe that New Zealanders also appreciate a transparent value chain and a sustainable business model, and also the love for wool clothing.
To New Zealanders we do not have to explain the benefits of wearing wool next to skin, in addition to being comfortable and natural. We also know that New Zealanders love to hike, ski and being outdoors – just like us Norwegians.
